Saturday, 03 January 2009
We invite all Messerschmitt Owners and those interested in Messerschmitts to the Messerschmitt Owners Club International Rally, taking place again on the superb site at The Wychwood Golf Club in the beautiful Cotswold area, during the weekend of 24th to 26th July. Camping will be available from Friday 24th July for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Although we hope you will bring your Messerschmitt, you will also be welcome without it - parking will be available for trailers.

2009 Subscriptions
Written by Andy Woolley
Monday, 15 December 2008
Our subscription rates have been unchanged for a number of years and during this time rising costs have gradually impacted on our finances. Additionally, the falling value of the pound against the euro has had a severe impact this year, as the majority of our parts are sourced from the eurozone. Therefore, we have reviewed the subscriptions for next year.

The renewal subscription rates for 2009 will change as follows:
 2008 2009
Single£14.00£16.00
Family £16.00£18.00
European £17.50£19.50
Overseas £26.50£28.50
Internet £14.00£12.00

The joining fee for new members will continue to be £5 on top of the cost of whatever type of membership is being purchased.

Note that the rate for Internet Membership (i.e. Kabinews sent by email) has been reduced to better reflect the reduced costs of not having to print and post Kabinews.

In the longer term, the increasing take up of Internet Membership may make it possible for the Club to stop printing and posting Kabinews. This would remove any restrictions on the amount of material or the number of colour photographs in each issue and would also produce significant savings in cost and manpower. However, the Directors would only consider taking such a radical step when and if the majority of members opt to receive Kabinews by email.

Another change that is being made to reduce costs, is that for future renewals we will no longer accept subscription payments that are made using US$ denominated cheques (checks). The reason for this is that the charges now being made by our bank to cash these cheques and convert the payment to Sterling are almost equal to the value of the subscription. Members will need to renew their subscriptions using a credit/debit card or PayPal instead.
